End Result

As my first assignment for the new school year we were getting to know After Effects a bit better.
Since a populair movie was about to come in theaters we got the assignment to use the trailer from "Terminator Dark fate" and make the genre into a different one. Or make a different action trailer.

I did eventually the last one unintentionally. I was thinking about a mystery trailer but it turned into an action trailer.

For all trailers you'd need a fitting song. I choose a copyfree song. After that was settled I searched for the right fonts. Once those were picked out I went and started a storyboard with the trailer footage.

Storyboard

In my storyboard I got a good chuck of what I wanted to make my trailer look like.
I still needed to make my own fonts and the logos in there. With that in mind I got the idea that I didn't want to do it like my storyboard has. So I searched Youtube to give me an idea of what After Effects could do. I found one that was for beginners. In that video they talked about masking, just not the way I needed. So I searched a bit further and got a good masking introduction and used that for my trailer.

Since only having a bit of masking on the font isn't enough to make the fonts pop. I wanted to use another effect. With a tutorial I got a cool effect to use in After Effects for my title. I used this on my subtext 'Dark fate'.
As seen below I got the effect almost ready to be seen in Premiere Pro.

Almost finished trailer

In my "Spark" page I'll talk with more detail about the project.
In "End result" you'll go to my Youtube channel and see the trailer.
In "Playlist" you're also going to my Youtube channel and will be in a Playlist that's all about the trailer.
